Perhaps the greatest thing about RVing is that it gives you a chance to bond with the family in a very traditional and fun way. Instead of watching TV for hours on end, playing video games, or sitting on your phone and texting the whole time you can enjoy face to face, good old fun with the family. At Bill Plemmons RV World we know the importance of family fun, that’s why we’ve been serving families since 1951. Check out this list of games you can take on the road to enjoy with your family.
Cornhole | Cornhole is also known as Bean Bag Toss and Tailgate Toss. You take turns throwing bean bags into the hole of a raised platform. A bag through the hole is 3 points, while a bag on the board is 1 point. It might sound easy, but this game is challenging and fun! Check out this link on how to build a cornhole set to learn more.
Nature Scavenger Hunt | Put together a list of items that are unique to the area you’re camping in and divide into teams. See who can bring everything back the fastest. For example, if you’re in Ohio look for buckeyes. Other items can include a feather, a specific leaf, a certain type of rock. This is a great way to get fresh air, learn teamwork, and just have a great time with the family.
Balloon Ping Pong | Take 2 Popsicle sticks and glue a paper plate to each one. Inflate a balloon and use the “paddles” to bat the balloon back and forth. This game takes a lot of work because balloons move differently than traditional ping pong balls and they’re greatly impacted by the breeze outside.
Flashlight Tag | This traditional game gets the family out, exercising, and having a great time. All you need is a flashlight. Tip: wear all black to make this game even more difficult! Remember, though, to be respectful of those around you and avoid a lot of screaming if it’s late at night. If you’re worried about disrupting others try finding an open field to play in.
These games provide you with the perfect opportunity to enjoy getting fresh air, camping with the family, and exercising your mind and body. Take advantage of them and watch your family have more fun than a cell phone of video game system could ever provide!
